For a book about hunger, illness, desire and eating, we chose a lusciously rich wine. The Priorat is an assertive wine, in everything it does. At 15% ABV, this is one of our strongest. The moment you pour yourself a glass, you’re greeted by rich aromas of fig and cherry, and a bright red cherry colour. On the palate, this wine is indulgent and full, giving you plenty to chew on. The notes of spice combine with the rich fig to make a wine that is warm and comforting.
At the BookCellar, we are massive fans of A Healthy Appetite; it was our September Book of The Month. We couldn’t imagine a wine better suited for this brilliant book about a woman who is inundated by desire, after she thought her life was over.
